Lewis Hamilton Will Be Rocking Goodwood Festival of Speed

All worries set aside because the young Lewis Hamilton will be seen on the upcoming Goodwood Festival of Speed. Well, I am more excited about it as the British Formula One sensation rocks the festival. This is the only opportunity for the fans of the sensational Lewis to see him in a rare racing action as he drives along the F1 McLaren coming this Sunday, June 24.

For five long years, this is the first time that the Formula One features four British drivers. These foreigners will also be driving their own cars on the Festival of Speed which is held at the Goodwood Park from June 22 - 24, 2007. But before the action happens, all of these famed drivers and racers will be seen at the Silverstone where the British Grand Prix happens.

Jenson Button, Anthony Davidson and David Coulthard will be joining Hamilton on its venture to the Racing Festival. All these British Drivers will also join the celebration of Goodwood Hill. Williams-Honda FW11B, the former car driven by the super famous Nigel Mansell and Nelson Piquet in the 1987 championship, will be driven by Davidson.

Both Davidson and Button will be driving two wheels as part of the Goodwood Organic Milk Race event. These two British drivers are not only car racers but also regarded as professional bikers as well.

Meanwhile, BMW floor mats and BMW fog lights are all available online. Check out your trusted sites to purchase one.

Mixin’ Cell Phones And Car Keys Is A BIG No-no!

Placing your electronic car key too close to your cell phone could invite some trouble. That’s exactly what Nissan has been telling its customers.

In a statement, the Japanese automaker advised its customers driving the new Altima and Infiniti G35 sedans to keep their car keys and cell phones at least an inch apart to avoid disabling the ‘intelligent keys.’ Nissan Altima parts as well as those of the G35 are now under close inspection.

“We discovered that if the I-Key touches a cell phone, outgoing or incoming calls have the potential to alter the electronic code inside the I-Key,” Nissan spokesman Kyle Bazemore said. “The car won’t start and the I-Key cannot be reprogrammed.”

Brent Adams, the vice president and general manager at Action Nissan in Nashville, said that the problem involves only a "certain type of phone and this particular service," which he declined to identify. He described the number of complaints as "minute." Adams noted that only a few customers have complained. "(Nissan officials) are doing the right thing by letting the dealers know," he said.

Bazemore said that current owners have been notified of the potential glitch via mail and can get new keys from dealers if they encounter the problem. The problem has occurred in a "very small percentage" of cars sold, Bazemore noted. He also said a new version of the I-Key, part of Nissan accessories, would be available in the fall.

Ken Hunt, the owner of Hunt Nissan in Chattanooga, said the dealership was including a warning in the vehicle packet for purchasers. "I have ordered extra keys in case," Hunt said. He added no retail customers have complained.

There are also quite a huge range of performance driving programs that would help you out in learning about and living your goals of becoming a professional high performance driver.

Did you know that this school is currently hailed and known as the only and the official driving school that is totally affiliated with Ford Racing? Well, if you did not, now you know. And this covers the whole range of North America. So just imagine how special this school is actually.

Alan Wilson is the general manager and CEO of Miller Motorsports Park which is a place where some of the driving lessons are held. On this, Wilson is elated. Updates on the Le Mans

Hungry for some car racing news? Just as you want it, 61 units of the greatest car racing sports cars will be seen during this year’s Le Mans - a historical event that supports the car racing actions to the Le Mans 24 Hours. And this grand event will be happening this June 16th which falls on a Saturday. Brace yourselves before it quenches your thirst for some racing news.

The theme for this year’s event will be from 1956 to 1968 and it also includes the cars that had made history on the Le Mans. Imagine how these cars made a history in Europe and outside. The event will also show some cars from Le Mans and those which never was surpassed through the years.

“This year, it has proved harder than ever before to select the 61 cars to race, from the 100-plus top-quality entries we’ve received. The final list reflects the real icons from one of the most emotive eras of endurance sportscar racing, and it’s hard to predict which will be first past the chequered flag. But it’s not just the fastest, most powerful cars which draw such enthusiasm from the vast Le Mans crowds. Take, for the example, the two Aston Martin DBR1s pitted against each other in Class Two… these are the actual cars which came first and second overall at Le Mans in 1959, and we’re delighted to say that Aston Martin’s Chief Executive, Dr Ulrich Bez, will be piloting the ’59 winner,” says Duncan Wiltshire who runs the historic support race which happened in Le Mans. He is now the Chairman of Motor Racing.

What is really more interesting other than the vintage racing cars shown will be the revelation of some hot cars such as the Ford GT40s, which is packed with an oozing personality. Can you imagine a car running on a high-speed 8.5 per mile circuit? Not before the Ferrari P3/4 enters the scene. Tim Samways Sporting & Historic Cars will handle the car and will be driven by Peter Hardman. Isn’t that hot? Now, figure out how Ferrari battles up with Ford again.

Do you miss the Lola T70? Don’t fret cause Andre and Thomas Bailly promises to be more competitive this time. David Cooke and Joe Twyman will drive in the Corvette Stingray with a muscular 7-litre engine that will sure be a center of attraction.

Now, you think it will be exciting? Watch out for more updates about it. Meanwhile check out the Auto Ventshade and K&N filters as well as Bilstein shocks. I have heard, they are all available on the net now.

Toyota’s Quotes And Notes On The Race

I was actually looking for a cooling part for my old baby and since I’m into racing cars as well, I browsed some sites on the net to look for updates about car racing.

In the No. 22 Caterpillar Toyota Camry, Dave Blaney was able to finish on the 11th position after starting it all on the 10th. The car racer was actually included on the top 15 after having 109 laps in the top 10 and was led by two laps specifically the 253-254. The 29th position was conquered by David Reutimann, the No. 00 Domino’s Toyota Camry, who started on the 14th.

The No. 46 Wyler.com/TRD Toyota Camry carrier Johnny Benson was able to land on the 31st still after being there at the start. The 32rd spot belong to the No. 84 Red Bull Toyota Camry carrier AJ Allmendinger who started on the 13th position.

Here are also some relevant quotes and notes that were taken from this site.

DAVE BLANEY, No. 22 Caterpillar Camry, Bill Davis Racing: Finishing position: 11th
How was your race? "We were doing fine. We kind of backed up one time and were about 15th, then we took two tires and got track position. We were kind of hanging on, struggling a bit, but hanging on. I don’t know we just got together with somebody. I went way up the track. I slid the front tires under the brakes and went way up the track. Then they got underneath me. I was giving them a hole by sliding up the track so I don’t really know what happened after that."

After the on-track incident, how were you able to rally back to an 11th-place finish? "We came back at least at the end just ran out of time. We had new tires with 20 to go and everybody else probably had 60 or 70 on theirs. So, we should have went for it pretty good right there, in fact we should have gone further. At least we finished one — we’ve had some trouble doing that."

JOHNNY BENSON, No. 46 Wyler.com/TRD Camry, Wyler Racing: Finishing position: 31st
How was your race? "Our race wasn’t what we wanted. We made the race and we ran — and we were able to get plenty of feedback for the next time, if we get to run. That’s the first race for me in this car and the first race for the guys at Wyler Racing. I think there’s a bunch to learn. The stuff we learn today will make us better the next time we run. We can’t be excited about the finish by any means. But, after we started working on it and got it quicker, we were able to run decent times and we felt good about our adjustments during the race."

On the name being used for the Car of Tomorrow: "I’ll call it the ‘new car’ now, we can’t call it the ‘Car of Tomorrow’ because we are racing it right now. It’s different to drive, but I think it’s not as bad as everyone says. It will get better when we get the set-up, but it wasn’t terrible."

AJ ALLMENDINGER, No. 84 Red Bull Camry, Team Red Bull: Finishing position: 32nd
How was your race? "We started the race doing okay and were able to get the ‘lucky dog’ and stay on the lead lap. Then we got a couple of laps down on the long green flag run and were never able to get it back. We fought all day to gain grip. More than anything it was good for me to get lap time today. That is the best way for me to continue to learn these cars. I wish I hadn’t made the rookie mistakes I did today, but I guess that it’s all part of the leaning process. As always, I’m proud of my guys and all the hard work they put in today to get the car handling better."

Toyota parts are the biggest parts of the contest. If not because of the toughness and durability of it, Toyota will not be recognized on the racing business.
