Hungry for some car racing news? Just as you want it, 61 units of the greatest car racing sports cars will be seen during this year’s Le Mans - a historical event that supports the car racing actions to the Le Mans 24 Hours. And this grand event will be happening this June 16th which falls on a Saturday. Brace yourselves before it quenches your thirst for some racing news.
The theme for this year’s event will be from 1956 to 1968 and it also includes the cars that had made history on the Le Mans. Imagine how these cars made a history in Europe and outside. The event will also show some cars from Le Mans and those which never was surpassed through the years.
“This year, it has proved harder than ever before to select the 61 cars to race, from the 100-plus top-quality entries we’ve received. The final list reflects the real icons from one of the most emotive eras of endurance sportscar racing, and it’s hard to predict which will be first past the chequered flag. But it’s not just the fastest, most powerful cars which draw such enthusiasm from the vast Le Mans crowds. Take, for the example, the two Aston Martin DBR1s pitted against each other in Class Two… these are the actual cars which came first and second overall at Le Mans in 1959, and we’re delighted to say that Aston Martin’s Chief Executive, Dr Ulrich Bez, will be piloting the ’59 winner,” says Duncan Wiltshire who runs the historic support race which happened in Le Mans. He is now the Chairman of Motor Racing.
What is really more interesting other than the vintage racing cars shown will be the revelation of some hot cars such as the Ford GT40s, which is packed with an oozing personality. Can you imagine a car running on a high-speed 8.5 per mile circuit? Not before the Ferrari P3/4 enters the scene. Tim Samways Sporting & Historic Cars will handle the car and will be driven by Peter Hardman. Isn’t that hot? Now, figure out how Ferrari battles up with Ford again.
Do you miss the Lola T70? Don’t fret cause Andre and Thomas Bailly promises to be more competitive this time. David Cooke and Joe Twyman will drive in the Corvette Stingray with a muscular 7-litre engine that will sure be a center of attraction.
Now, you think it will be exciting? Watch out for more updates about it. Meanwhile check out the Auto Ventshade and K&N filters as well as Bilstein shocks. I have heard, they are all available on the net now.
